Timberland 40 Years Tribute to Heritage and Craftsmanship in Malaysia

Timberland Malaysia 40 Years

Timberland 40 Years Tribute to Heritage and Craftsmanship in Malaysia

Timberland® pays tribute to the 40th Anniversary of its iconic Timberland® Yellow Boot with a weeklong celebration that honors the brand’s heritage of quality craftsmanship. From the Yellow Boot’s inception 40 years ago in a humble workshop in New Hampshire, USA to its modern interpretation today, consumers can experience how the art of craftsmanship has been nurtured by Timberland® for the past forty years and how it is being interpreted by the millennial generation today.

“Timberland pays homage to the Yellow Boot that has been the inspiration for countless collection over the past 40 year. In fact, the Timberland Yellow Boot became such an icon that our company changed its name to The Timberland Company as recognition of the Yellow Boot’s impact back then,” said Daisy Tan, General Manager for Timberland, Singapore and Malaysia. “Through our BEST THEN, BETTER NOW campaign, we celebrate a very special milestone for Timberland® while sharing our inspiration towards craftsmanship and product innovations that are relevant to today’s generation.”

Creators at the Workshop

During this weeklong celebration, Timberland has built a Workshop — a living, breathing intersection of style, quality craftsmanship and millennial culture. In collaboration with local artisans – coined Creators at the Workshop – consumers can marvel and discover craft-making while witnessing Timberland’s values in action through the featured Earthkeepers™ Heritage Collection of eco-conscious footwear and apparel.

The Workshop, crafted in collaboration with local artisans KONTAK!, showcases Timberland’s shared values of sustainability and eco-friendliness by using recyclable and reusable materials for the staging and display areas. “A third of the materials used through our event are eco-friendly reusable materials. I’m very pleased that Timberland have this opportunity to collaborate with KONTAK!, to assist in constructing such a beautiful and unique event installation while remaining sustainable and eco-friendly,” said Tan.

“With Timberland’s core values of style, performance and sustainability, we knew we had to create an impressive runway stage. So, we came up with the idea of reusing wooden pallets to build the runway stage and display showcases. The result is a very usable installation that projects heritage with a sense of rustic ambiance,” said Shaffiq

Ahmad, representative from KONTAK! To date, KONTAK! has collaborated with independent art galleries and independent artists to produce three-dimension art installations for local and international exhibitions.

Timberland is also collaborating with Art Misfits to showcase a new craft that represents the millennial generation. The collaboration allows consumers who purchase the Yellow Boots the opportunity to personalize the iconic product with inspired art pieces permanently etched onto the Yellow Boots using a technique called Pyrography, which is the craft of painting with intense heat suitable for materials like genuine leather.

“We are really honoured to be part of the celebration. Coming up with the right designs that work well with the existing aesthetics of the Yellow Boots was a good challenge for us, as it drove us to explore ideas out of the ordinary. We hope that this design personalization workshop will give Yellow Boots owners a sense of pride in owning an one-of-a-kind but stylish pair of boots,” said Michelle Yeoh, representative from Art Misfits.

The Killers MyTeksi Service

The Killers live in Malaysia 2013

The Killers MyTeksi Service

The Killers are coming to Malaysia! They are gracing the stage in Sepang with their new album Battle Born. Along with the concert, MyTeksi is at it again providing a safe and secure ride home. In two months, MyTeksi has secured rides for Good Vibes, We Love Asia and plans to partner with Arthur’s Day. Despite being fresh in the business, MyTeksi is making their mark at Malaysia’s biggest events. Their services facilitates the ultimate concert festival experience, removing the hassle of designated drivers and parking. But more than that in partnering with events, MyTeksi is making itself part of Malaysia’s young new cultural fabric.

For The Killers, MyTeksi is offering RM20 cash-back for all taxi rides booked via the MyTeksi app to the event (anywhere from Klang Valley, Cyberjaya, and Putrajaya only). MyTeksi strives to offer users the ability to enjoy a hassle free concert with seamless transportation to and from the event.

However, what might be seamless to your everyday concert goer is hard work and planning for MyTeksi. Prepared to serve not just the passengers but also their drivers, MyTeksi pulls out all the stops. In addition to setting up to serve their passengers, MyTeksi also values their drivers by making sure they have dinner and a place of their own. Events for MyTeksi are not about business, they’re about people.

“Malaysia’s big events are what MyTeksi was made for,” says MyTeksi’s Regional Marketing Head, Cheryl Goh. With rave reviews, MyTeksi is excited to participate with The Killers. This isn’t MyTeksi’s first rodeo and they’re ready to take the astronomical turn out now that they’re seasoned with experience. Cheryl adds, “For us, this is more than a business, it’s a social enterprise. We come to these events to show that we’re providing safe public transportation AND show our taxi drivers that we appreciate them. We’re not just here to bus people around, but to make them aware of our service and innovation.”

Also they’re giving out free ice cream! Yes, free. Anyone with the MyTeksi app is free to collect on some sweet Artisan Potong Pops. At every event so far, MyTeksi has been helping passenger’s satisfy their sweet tooth and get home with fuller stomachs. Music events are a place to enjoy the night life. MyTeksi is putting taxis where and when you need them. Though simple it is innovation at work. As a young start up, it’s doing two important things: answering a problem most Malaysians have had with getting a taxi and tapping into Malaysian youth to start a change.

“Events like Good Vibes is exactly what My Teksi was made for.” says My Teksi head of marketing, Cheryl Goh. Good Vibes is  essentially a good time with good friends and good music. But before and after is the hassle. First there’s parking, distance, and who will be the designated driver. However, My Teksi offers a solution to safely get to the event and arrive home all at discount with the rebate.

3D Fun Fitness hits Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur

3D Fun Fitness at Lot 10, KL

3D Fun Fitness hits Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur

Celebrity Fitness Malaysia is proud to introduce the 3D FUN Group Functional Fitness Studio, an all-new fitness concept in their Lot 10 club in downtown Kuala Lumpur, created by Celebrity Fitness Development Team. This is to improve human movement to allow better performance in daily activities, in their Lot 10 club in downtown Kuala Lumpur.

The 3D FUN Group Functional Fitness Studio consists of many new fitness programmes such as the Bosu, Kettlebell, ViPR. Celebrity Fitness also takes this opportunity to launch 2 new signature classes ie. Celebrity Fitness C-Heart RateTM and Celebrity Fitness Hit BackTM.

“Malaysians today are in search for a great fitness challenge to boost their fitness routines. The pursuit for the “fitness thrill and excitement” has long been the drive of many fitness novice and even, experts out there. To fulfill the needs and demands of this group, we introduce 3D FUN Group Functional Fitness Studio in Celebrity Fitness Malaysia” said Krishnan Malhotra, Country Group Fitness Manager of Celebrity Fitness Malaysia.

Aenie Wong

Bosu, which stands for “Both Sides Utilized”, will prove a class favorite for members who love challenging fitness moves. Here, instructors guide members to maintain overall body stability and body alignment through integrated movement. This programme is easily applicable to daily functional requirements because the human body’s everyday movements are in 3D – for instance, stabilizing one’s body on a stool while you are taking an object that is located above!

The Kettlebell is a traditional Russian training tool to develop full body conditioning as fitness. Those using a Kettlebell have their hands and wrists in neutral alignments, enabling greater endurance and longevity in the core lifts so that a much higher volume of exercises can be generated.

For whole body movement, ViPR would be the best option. Performing at the highest level with renewed sense of energy and movement possibility, ViPR training is a blend of lifting, shifting and twisting. If you are new to indoor cycling class, Celebrity Fitness C-Heart RateTM is the perfect place to start. Its simple choreography is very easy to follow with easy speed sections and low intensity hills set to popular fun music.

Inspired by the current craze for self-defense moves, the Celebrity Fitness HitBackTM class mixes traditional boxing, kick boxing, and Japanese-based martial arts to music, allowing members to punch, strike and kick with the best of them. “The 3D FUN Group Functional Fitness Studio is specially created for people from all walks of life. Some may like challenging fitness programmes, others may prefer a slow pace workout and yet others may even prefer to increase their muscle mass. Whatever it may be, we have it,” said Krishnan.

Amber Chia

He added, “3D FUN Functional Group Fitness Studio is certainly a new fitness resolution where one gets to enjoy, learn some fitness moves and work their body to shape. In fact, other programmes like Celebrity Fitness Fast FitTM, Celebrity Fitness TRXTM fall under this group.”

Celebrities even swear by it – Henley Hii, Dennis Gan, Aenie Wong, Amber Chia, Baki Zainal, Julie Woon and many more were seen to experience the thrill and excitement of this new fitness revolution in the recent media review class. “I’m so glad to be part of this new fitness program and I must say that it is indeed worth the experience. With a variety of new fitness programmes, one just has to determine what fits them – or else, I dare you to try them all,” said an enthusiastic Julie Woon.

Members of Celebrity Fitness have the privilege to join these new signature classes for free and 3D Functional Group exercises are also available at Celebrity Fitness Bangsar Village II.
